Why Legend of Arcade Applied
Legend of Arcade had been planning to improve its shopfront for some time. With a growing customer base, the business wanted a façade that better reflected its vibrant, modern identity. The Property Improvement Grant offered the perfect opportunity to carry out those enhancements without placing financial strain on day-to-day operations.
Through the scheme, businesses can secure up to 75% of improvement costs, capped at £1,200, helping them make improvements that would otherwise take longer to deliver.
A Straightforward Application Process
To apply for the grant, Legend of Arcade completed the standard application form, providing:
- Photos of the current frontage
- Details of the proposed improvements
- Quotations for the work from contractors
- Confirmation of VAT status
- Supporting documentation such as lease details and consent where required
This simple checklist ensures the BID team can process applications quickly and fairly, as funding is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Once the work was completed, Legend of Arcade submitted “before and after” photos to BID Fort William as required by the scheme. These images help demonstrate the positive impact the grant programme continues to have on improving the appearance of the town centre.
The result is a brighter, more polished storefront that stands out on the High Street and supports a more welcoming environment for customers and visitors.
Legend of Arcade is one of several businesses to benefit from the Property Improvement Grant, helping reinforce BID Fort William’s wider commitment to supporting local enterprise and improving the visual appeal of the town centre.
By enabling improvements like these, the grant contributes to a more vibrant, attractive and resilient High Street — something that benefits residents, businesses and visitors alike.
