This is your chance to make a real impact on our town’s future: championing business needs, driving local projects, and creating a vibrant, successful Fort William for all. Applications to be sent back by Friday 27th June 2025.

Who can apply?
Levy-paying businesses within the BID area are able nominate themselves – or individuals who could be nominated by a levy-paying business – for the BID Board of Directors . We’re aiming for a mix of voices from key sectors, including:
- Retail/Wholesale
- Leisure / Hospitality
- Industrial / Service
- Office / Financial
- Food / Drink
One additional seat is reserved for a Highland Council representative. If you’re passionate about Fort William’s future, we’d love you to apply.
What’s involved?
Joining the BID Board isn’t just about having a seat at the table — it’s your chance to shape the projects and priorities that will drive real, lasting change in Fort William. As a Board member, you’ll help guide the delivery of the BID Business Plan, ensuring good financial management, transparent decision-making, and meaningful support for local businesses through initiatives like shop front grants, events, and marketing.
Board members commit to:
- A 3-year voluntary term
- Attending around 6 meetings per year
- Representing the voices and interests of all businesses within the BID area
Whether your strengths lie in finance, marketing, planning, legal, or digital – or you simply bring energy and commitment – your insight could help make Fort William an even better place to do business.
