At BID Fort William, we are pleased to welcome three new directors to our Board: David MacGillivray, Lesley Main, and John Cameron. Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will play a vital role in delivering our business plan and driving forward initiatives that benefit our town.

David MacGillivray – Shiel Buses
As Managing Director of Shiel Buses, David provides valuable commercial insight and operational expertise. His involvement in strategic investment and rural connectivity offers a practical perspective on transport, tourism, and local infrastructure, supporting sustainable growth across the area.

Lesley Main – Ben Nevis Bar & Restaurant
Co-owner and director of the Ben Nevis Bar & Restaurant, Lesley combines a background in corporate management with hands-on experience in hospitality. She champions local producers through a welcoming, award-winning venue, contributing strategic insight and customer-focused leadership to the Board.

John Cameron – Glen Nevis Holidays
Co-owner and director of Glen Nevis Holidays, John manages a long-established tourism and estate business. His active role in conservation and sustainable land use, combined with experience in tourism and land management, brings a valuable long-term perspective to the Board.

Archie MacDonald – Highland Soap Co.
As Executive Director of The Highland Soap Co., Archie offers deep retail insight and a strong dedication to local enterprise. His expertise is instrumental in guiding our efforts to revitalise Fort William’s commercial landscape.

Jane MacDonald – ALVANCE Aluminium Group
In her role as Head of Operational Excellence at ALVANCE Aluminium Group, Jane brings a wealth of experience in operational management. Her strategic approach supports our focus on efficiency and excellence in delivering projects that benefit the local business community.

Mark MacLean – MacLean Guest House
With extensive experience in business development and project management, Mark plays a key role in implementing our strategic plans. His leadership fosters economic growth and community engagement in Fort William. 

Working Together for a Stronger Fort William

Our board members are volunteers who serve a three-year term, attending approximately six meetings per year. They bring a range of skills and perspectives, including finance, marketing, planning, legal, and digital expertise. Their collective efforts ensure that BID Fort William remains focused on delivering practical outcomes that benefit all businesses within the BID area.
